About Curious Whisker Press

A quiet space for big imaginations.

Meet Kimberly Welsh

Kimberly Welsh is a mom of two, a teacher, and a storyteller who loves turning everyday moments into little adventures.

She spends her time writing, going on long walks with her dogs, Yuuki and Bart, reading her next book club book, and playing games with her family.

Kimberly founded Curious Whisker Press in 2026 to create a quiet space where stories like Charlie’s can inspire kids to ask questions and observe the world around them.

Meet Charlie

Charlie (short for Charlemagne) was a quiet, bright-eyed cat who loved observing the world around him. Kimberly and her husband, Jesse, rescued him from a dumpster in 1998 and he lived as a happy fur baby in their home for over twenty years.

The idea for Charlie’s adventures began during drives home from school, when Kimberly’s daughter would wonder, “What did Charlie do today while we were away?” Together, they imagined his little adventures. These stories would eventually become The Adventures of Charlie the Cat.

Meet Elena Welsh

Elena Welsh is a writer, a phantom of independent bookstores, and the Director of Marketing and PR at Curious Whisker Press.

They collect hobbies like books and can currently be found crafting, volunteering, kickboxing, sailing, hosting game nights, and trying different local restaurants. When not participating in one of their endless side projects, they hang out with their cat, Gatsby.

Elena joined the CWP Team after spending four years in the corporate marketing world. They are excited to be given so much space for creativity as they work to make their mom’s vision a reality.
